The Prayer Quilt and Shawl Ministry reaches out to those who are in need of comfort while going through a difficult time. Through the prayers of the parishioners of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande, recipients of these quilts or shawls will feel God's love and comfort as well as our love and concern. St. Joseph on the Rio Grande parishioners, who are members of the Prayer Quilt and Shawl Ministry create one-of-a-kind quilts and shawls for the many times of our life. The maker begins with prayers and blessings
for the recipient of quilts or shawls.
There are many different reasons you may want to give a quilt or shawl. For example, we can make one for those undergoing medical procedures; as a comfort after a loss or in times of stress; during bereavement; prayer or meditation; leading ritual; during an illness and recovery; or ministering to others.
